Salesforce thrice-a-year releases have brought us some huge features like Lightning and the Marketing Cloud.

Here’s what we know about the Summer ’19 release so far.

When Does Summer ’19 Release Hit My Org?

As per usual, the release date for Summer ’19 will depend on your Salesforce Instance, but the dates to remember are May 8th, June 8th, and June 15th.

How to find your date

  1. Visit trust.salesforce.comSalesforce Summer '19 Release ultimate guide
  2. Click ‘Status’ button
  3. Enter your Instance, Domain, or MID into the search bar
  4. Go to the ‘Maintenances’ Tab
  5. Scroll down to find ‘Summer ’19 Major Release’

Getting Early Access with Sandbox

If you are a Sandbox customer, you will have the opportunity to get early access to Summer ‘19 release. Preview Instances will be upgraded on May 3 & 4, 2019 and Non-Preview Instances will be upgraded on June 14 & 15, 2019.


The Lightning Experience is Coming (whether you like it or not)

Salesforce announced in the Spring ’19 update that they will be moving users** to the Lightning Experience starting in Winter 2020. This Critical Update will be auto-activated in orgs on a rolling basis beginning on October 12, 2019.

Who will be affected? **All users with the Lightning Experience User permission enabled

Spring ’19 Release Highlights

Just in case you missed it, here are some of the major features and tools that Salesforce announced late last year for the Spring ’19 product update:

  • Enhanced Flow Building through the Flow Builder– replaced the older Cloud Flow Designer to provide a newer, simpler UI for users
  • Pinned Lists on your List View– all users can make any list their new default
  • New & Updated Lightning Web Components– what used to be called a Lightning component is now an Aura component
  • and more
