Our friends over at Pardot just released this great infographic showing how some marketers think of their discipline as an art, while the new school of marketers (sometimes referred to as Data Scientists) prefer to slice and dice web analytics data on a daily basis.
There is most definitely a need for both. If you're a smaller organization, you might have to wear both hats. Creating visually compelling marketing materials, websites, blog posts and infographics is a huge component in a successful marketing program…but without measuring your results, you won't know what produced a positive ROI and what did not.
